Job purpose:
At Newrest, we’re looking for enthusiastic Drivers to load galley equipment onto our trucks and deliver top-notch catering services to a variety of aircraft.
Key duties:
- Operate company vehicles (vans, trucks, high loaders) for the transportation of catering equipment, meals and supplies.
- Ensure timely and safe delivery of items to and from the airport, units, and other designated locations.
- Follow the daily transport schedule and instructions provided by dispatch or supervisor.
- Perform vehicle pre-checks (fuel, oil, lights, brakes, tires, etc…) before each shift.
- Ensure proper loading and securing of goods inside the vehicle.
- Comply with all airside and landside driving regulations, including airport safety and security protocols.
- Maintain cleanliness and basic maintenance of the assigned vehicle.
- Accurately complete and submit trip logs, delivery records, and checklists.
- Coordinate with flight loaders, transport assistants and operations team during deliveries.
- Report any accidents, delays, vehicle issues, or route changes immediately to the supervisor.
- Ensure safe handling of special items such as dry ice, special meals, or fragile equipment.
- Maintain valid driving license and required airport always permits.
- Assist in the loading and unloading of catering equipment, meals, and supplies into company vehicles and aircraft loaders.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor or management.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Able to understand English language to adhere to company notices, staff briefings and individual instructions provided to you.
- Flexible approach to work and able to work efficiently and thoroughly with minimal supervision.
- Able to cope with a pressured environment.
- Excellent time keeping and must be able to work shift patterns.
- Holder Goods Vehicle License.
- Clean certificate of Character readily available is a must.
