We are currently looking for a Sales & Business Development Executive – Freight Forwarding to join an amazing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving business growth, building strong client relationships, and expanding key trade lanes, while ensuring smooth operations and profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Proactively identify and secure new business opportunities to achieve monthly Gross Profit (GP) targets.
- Build and maintain long-term, trust-based relationships with clients to ensure satisfaction and retention.
- Generate and follow up on sales leads, maintaining accurate records in the company CRM.
- Develop and expand key inbound and outbound trade lanes, focusing on Mauritius routes (e.g., China, India, UAE, South Africa).
- Collaborate with Operations, Customer Service, and Documentation teams for seamless shipment execution.
- Monitor competitor activities, market trends, and pricing to identify revenue opportunities and protect market share.
- Coordinate with Finance to follow up on outstanding payments and ensure adherence to credit limits.
Required Skills:
- Strong negotiation skills to secure high-value deals while maintaining profitability.
- Excellent verbal and written communication in English and French.
- Deep understanding of freight forwarding, sea/air freight, customs clearance, and international trade lanes.
- Ability to analyse market data and develop actionable sales strategies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM software.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
Qualifications & Experience:
- 3 to 5 years of experience in sales or business development within the freight forwarding or logistics industry.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Supply Chain Management, or related field is a plus.
- Valid and clean private car driving license for regular client visits across Mauritius.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets and securing new accounts.
