Role purpose
The Assistant Cook is responsible for providing support to the Head Chef in the preparation and service
of meals. This includes prepping ingredients, cooking items, plating meals, and cleaning up the kitchen
throughout the day. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized and able to multitask.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist Head Chef with food preparation and cooking of menu items
-Perform cleaning duties as per company standards
-Ensure food safety standards are met and followed
-Receive and store food items according to safety and sanitation guidelines
-Monitor food temperatures and quality throughout the cooking process
-Plate meals according to recipes and presentation standards
-Ensure the kitchen is properly stocked with necessary items.
Requirements and Qualifications:
-High school diploma or equivalent
-Previous experience in a kitchen environment preferred
-Able to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask
-Must be able to follow instructions and adhere to food safety guidelines
-Knowledge of kitchen equipment and tools
-Excellent organizational and communication skills
Salary Range and Working Hours
-MUR 15, 000 as basic salary
-Morning: Monday to Saturday - 9hrs - 16hrs
-Night Shift: Tuesday to Saturday - Catering
-Closed on Sundays and Public Holidays
