Job Description: Casual Canteen Kitchen Attendant
Position Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic individual to join our canteen team as a Casual Canteen Kitchen Attendant. The Kitchen Attendant will assist in the smooth running of daily canteen operations by undertaking various food preparation and service tasks. Responsibilities:
- Assist the kitchen staff in preparing ingredients for meals, including chopping vegetables, marinating meats, and portioning ingredients according to recipes and portion sizes.
- Follow food safety procedures and guidelines, ensuring that all food items are handled, stored, and prepared in a safe and hygienic manner.
- Assist in the cooking and assembly of food items, such as sandwiches, salads, soups, and other menu items, ensuring their presentation meets quality standards.
- Assist with dishwashing and cleaning duties, maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in the kitchen and dining areas.
- Maintain inventory of food and supplies, notifying the supervisor when items are running low and assisting in restocking as necessary.
- Ensure that all equipment and utensils are clean and in good working order, reporting any issues to the supervisor.
- Provide friendly and efficient customer service, maintaining a positive attitude and addressing customer concerns or requests promptly and professionally.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff members to ensure smooth operations and quality service.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a kitchen or food service setting is preferred but not required.
- Basic knowledge of food handling and safety procedures.
- Ability to follow recipes and portion guidelines accurately.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a customer-oriented approach.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

- Flexibility to work during varying shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, depending on business needs.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and carrying heavy objects (up to 50 pounds).
- Comfortable working in a warm and fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Adherence to personal hygiene and grooming standards required for working in a food service setting.
