Job Description: Kids Club Hostess
Position Overview: We are seeking an enthusiastic and responsible Kids Club Hostess to engage and supervise children in various activities within our kids club. As a Kids Club Hostess, you will be responsible for creating a safe and enjoyable environment where children can have fun, learn, and socialize.
Responsibilities:
- Engage children in a variety of age-appropriate activities, including arts and crafts, games, sports, and educational programs.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all children in the kids club, closely supervising and monitoring their activities.
- Encourage positive behavior and promote a friendly, inclusive atmosphere where children feel welcome and comfortable.
- Assist in the planning and organization of daily activities, ensuring a diverse range of options that cater to the interests and abilities of different age groups.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the kids club area, ensuring that equipment and supplies are kept in good condition.
- Communicate with parents/guardians to inform them about their child's participation, progress, and any important updates.
- Handle and resolve any conflicts or issues that arise among children in a professional and calm manner.
- Comply with all health, safety, and security guidelines, and report any concerns or incidents to the appropriate staff members.
Requirements:
- Early childhood training or education is preferred, with a solid understanding of child development and appropriate activities for different age groups.
- Ability to swim is essential, as some activities may take place in or around water.
- A friendly and approachable attitude, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Prior experience working with children, such as in a childcare setting, summer camp, or related field.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English or French (or both), with the ability to effectively communicate with children and parents/guardians.
- Patience, creativity, and the ability to adapt to different situations and meet the needs of individual children.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively.
- Ability to work in a team and collaborate with other staff members.
- First aid and CPR certification would be an advantage.
