Role Summary: We are seeking a reliable and self-motivated individual to join our team as a Casual Kitchen Helper. The primary responsibility of the role is to support our kitchen staff in various tasks, ensuring a clean, organized, and efficient work environment. Responsibilities:
- Assist kitchen staff in preparation and cooking of food items.
- Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas in accordance with health and safety standards.
- Maintain the cleanliness and tidiness of the kitchen, including sweeping and mopping floors, and emptying trash cans.
- Assist with food storage and stock rotation, ensuring proper labeling, organization, and adherence to expiration dates.
- Receive and inspect deliveries, ensuring they meet quality and safety standards.
- Assist with dishwashing and maintaining cleanliness of dishes, pots, pans, and other kitchen utensils.
- Assist in setting up and breaking down food stations, including salad bars, buffet lines, and beverage stations, as required.
- Follow all food hygiene and safety regulations, including proper handling and storage of food items to minimize waste and maintain quality.
- Communicate effectively with team members, ensuring smooth workflow and timely completion of tasks.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Kitchen Manager or Head Chef.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a similar role would be an advantage, but not essential.
- Basic knowledge of kitchen equipment and utensils.
- Understanding of food hygiene and safety standards.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Physical stamina and dexterity to carry out manual kitchen tasks.
- Flexibility in working hours, including weekends and evenings.
