Job Title: Assistant Head Waiter
Job Summary: We are seeking a motivated and experienced individual to join our team as an Assistant Head Waiter. In this role, you will work closely with the head waiter to ensure the smooth operation of the dining area, provide exceptional customer service, and support the wait staff team. The ideal candidate should possess excellent communication skills, leadership qualities, and a strong ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Previous experience as a waiter or waitress and proficiency in both English and French are essential for success in this role.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the head waiter in managing and supervising the dining area during service hours
- Coordinate with the wait staff to ensure efficient and smooth service delivery
- Greet guests, seat them, and attend to their needs in a friendly and professional manner
- Take orders accurately and relay them to the kitchen staff promptly
- Assist in training new wait staff members on service standards and protocols
- Address any guest issues or complaints promptly and effectively
- Maintain a clean and organized dining area, ensuring tables are properly set up
- Assist in inventory management and restocking supplies as needed
- Collaborate with the kitchen and bar staff to ensure timely and accurate food and beverage service
- Uphold and enforce health and safety regulations and standards
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a waiter/waitress or in a similar customer service role
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong leadership qualities with the ability to supervise and motivate a team
- Able to work efficiently and calmly in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in English and French is required; additional languages are a plus
- Strong knowledge of food and beverage service standards and techniques
- Exceptional customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor
- Ability to resolve conflicts and handle guest complaints effectively
- Strong multitasking and organizational skills
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
