Job Description: Accounts Payable Officer
We are looking for a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable Officer to join our finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for processing payments, verifying invoices, and accurately entering financial data into our accounting systems. The ideal candidate should have a strong attention to detail, possess basic accounting knowledge, and be able to work efficiently under pressure.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the end-to-end process of accounts payable, including receiving, reviewing, and verifying invoices
- Ensure that all invoices are approved and coded correctly before processing payments
- Accurately enter financial data into the accounting system, ensuring correct coding and classification
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all accounts payable transactions
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner
- Ensure timely payment of invoices and adherence to payment terms
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to obtain necessary approvals and resolve any payment-related issues
- Support month-end closing activities by providing accurate and complete accounts payable data
- Assist with financial analysis and reporting as needed
- Stay updated on industry regulations and best practices in accounts payable processes
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a finance or accounts payable role
- Familiarity with accounting systems (e.g., software, ERPs)
- Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and practices
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Proficient in using spreadsheets and other office applications
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
