EXECUTIVE SUMMARY OF POST
The Senior QA Engineer (SQAE) is an experienced Engineer. An SQAE is responsible for writing and controlling test plans, and helps in complex manual, mobile and non-functional testing. The individual in this position must be proficient in test automation tasks, such as writing automated scripts, running automated test suites preparing reports and configuring test environments. Assistance to management in LOE estimations isrequired. The SQAE mentors engineers and participates in the recruiting process.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform complex functional and mobile testing
- Create Test Plans and Test Cases to support testing execution
- Assist Project Managers with LOE estimations & risk assessments
- Arrange the device/hardware/software requirements for test setup
- Follow up for prompt delivery of different milestones
- Mentor QA Engineers
- Ensure content and structure of all testing artifacts is documented and maintained
- Participate in the recruiting process and make hiring recommendations for QA engineers
SKILLS
- Ability to be assertive in communication
- Capable of independently learn and work with new technologies
- Analytical and process-oriented
- Strong understanding of front-end web technologies (e.g., HTML/CSS/JavaScript)
- Strong understanding of back-end technologies (e.g., Java/.Net)
- Strong understanding of mobile technologies (e.g., iOS/Android)
- Proficiency in project and bug tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, Bugzilla, Quality Center)
- Proficiency in test case management tools (e.g., Spira Test, Testlink)
Proficiency in any of the following: test automation/ADA/performance or security testing
MILESTONES
- Has participated in QA Capability initiatives such as creating/presenting workshops
- Has owned the implementation and execution of ADA/Automation/Performance/Security testing for a project.
- Requiring minimum supervision from Onshore/Offshore management
- Has assisted managers in recruiting and ramp up efforts
- Has obtained a QA qualification
QUALIFICATIONS - Software Engineering/Web Development degree
- 6+ years QA related experience
- Experience in software development and/or web development methodologies
- Proficiency in functional testing
- Proficiency in non-functional testing
- Proficiency creating Test Plans, test cases, Status Reports
- English level B2 or higher
- ISTQB (Foundation) certified is desired
- Proficiency performing test automation/ADA/performance or security testing
