Job Purpose:
The Sous Chef (Chef de partie) plays a critical role in supporting the Head Chef with day-to-day kitchen operations, ensuring the consistent preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes. This position involves supervising kitchen staff, contributing to menu development, maintaining hygiene standards, and managing food inventory. The Sous Chef upholds the companys culinary standards and fosters a positive, efficient, and creative kitchen environment. Through strong leadership and culinary expertise, the role contributes to delivering memorable dining experiences that reflect the company's commitment to excellence.
Key duties :
- Assist the Head Chef in managing the kitchen operations and overseeing the preparation and cooking of all food items.
- Plan and develop creative and innovative menus in collaboration with the Head Chef.
- Train, supervise, and motivate kitchen staff to maintain high standards of food preparation and presentation.
- Ensure that all food is prepared and served according to company standards and in a timely manner.
- Monitor food inventory and order supplies as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, following all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Collaborate with other departments to plan and execute special events and catering services.
- Assist in creating and implementing new recipes and dishes.
- Adhere to budget guidelines and control food and labor costs.
- Stay updated with industry trends and incorporate new techniques and ingredients into the menu.
- Maintain high quality standards.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or Chef de partie in a fast-paced and high volume kitchen.
- Experience in the mediterranean cuisine would be a big plus.
- In-depth knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures in mediterranean cuisine.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure and in a team environment.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Creative and passionate about food and cooking.
